Operations Developer to OlsAro Crop Biotech AB
As Operations Developer, you will work closely with the business and operations team and colleagues across OlsAro to coordinate, drive and continuously improve our business operations.
Are you a structured and proactive person who enjoys driving projects forward, improving how things work and taking ownership in a fast-paced environment? OlsAro Crop Biotech is looking for an Operations Developer to join our team in Gothenburg in a temporary position covering parental leave.
This is a broad, hands-on role at the centre of a growing agtech company. You will coordinate key operational activities, drive internal projects and processes, and help ensure that priorities across the organisation move from plan to execution.
About OlsAro
OlsAro Crop Biotech is a Swedish agtech company developing solutions for more climate-resilient agriculture. With wheat as our first focus, we develop improved crop genetics and technologies addressing challenges including salinity, heat and resource efficiency.
Following our recent seed funding round, we are entering an exciting phase of accelerated technology development, expanded international field validation and organisational growth.
The Role
As Operations Developer, you will work closely with the business and operations team and colleagues across OlsAro to coordinate, drive and continuously improve our business operations.
The role combines project coordination, operational development and hands-on execution. You will be responsible for keeping activities moving, following up on priorities and developing structures and processes that enable the team to work effectively.
OlsAro is a fast-moving company, which means priorities can change quickly and new needs emerge along the way. You need to be comfortable taking initiative, finding pragmatic solutions and moving between different areas of the business.
Key responsibilities
Operational coordination: Coordinate and follow up on key company activities, priorities and internal projects, including field trial planning, coordination and follow-up, as well as the compilation and analysis of field trial results.
Seed handling and inventory: Coordinate seed handling, storage, documentation and shipments, and maintain accurate and up-to-date seed inventories to support R&D, field trials and commercial collaborations.
Project management: Drive selected operational and cross-functional projects from planning through execution and follow-up.
Process development: Develop and improve internal processes, systems and ways of working to support a growing organisation.
Public funding: Support funding applications and coordinate administration, reporting and follow-up of externally funded projects.
Finance & administration: Support budgeting, invoicing, purchasing, supplier coordination and other financial and administrative processes.
People & HR: Support recruitment, onboarding and other people-related processes and administration.
Management & board support: Coordinate and prepare information, presentations, reporting and materials for management and board activities.
Communication: Support company communication and preparation of materials for internal and external audiences.
Planning & reporting: Structure information, track progress and support reporting across operational and strategic activities.
Day-to-day operations: Take ownership of the practical and often unexpected activities required to keep a fast-growing company running effectively.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is highly structured, proactive and comfortable taking ownership.
You enjoy creating structure, driving several activities in parallel and making sure things get done. You are equally comfortable developing a process, coordinating a project and rolling up your sleeves to solve an urgent operational issue.
Most importantly, you thrive in a fast-paced environment. Priorities may change, not every process is already defined, and the role requires you to continuously assess what needs attention and move things forward.
We think you:
Have a relevant university degree in business, engineering, science or a related field
Have experience from operations, project management, business administration or a similar role
Have a demonstrated ability to structure processes, coordinate projects and drive activities to completion
Are highly organised and able to prioritise several activities simultaneously
Have strong analytical skills and are comfortable working with numbers and complex information
Can structure and visualise information and make it accessible to different audiences
Communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing
Are proactive and comfortable taking initiative without waiting for detailed instructions
Adapt quickly when priorities change and are flexible in taking on different tasks and responsibilities
Have a strong sense of ownership and a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset
Experience with public funding applications and grant/project administration is highly valued.
Experience from a startup, scale-up or other fast-moving organisation is a strong advantage, as is experience from agriculture, biotech, life science or another technology-driven industry.
Why OlsAro?
You will become part of a small international team working to address some of the most important challenges facing global agriculture.
This is an opportunity to take significant responsibility from the start and gain broad exposure to the operations of a growing science-driven company. You will work across functions, interact closely with company leadership and have the opportunity to make a visible impact on how OlsAro operates and develops.
We are looking for someone with a proactive, can-do mindset who enjoys responsibility, variety and the challenge of making things happen in a rapidly developing organisation.
Location: Gothenburg, Sweden – physical presence at our office is required
Employment: Full-time temporary position, parental leave cover
Start: As soon as possible, based on candidate availability
